“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.” – O. Fred Donaldson
Our aim is to offer children an outstanding educational experience from birth to pre-school. We believe that every child is unique and our creative and reflective staff will endeavour to support your child’s learning and development across all the prime and specific areas of the EYFS (Early Years and Foundation Stage) by actively promoting independence, confidence and exploration. We are committed to providing a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment to help develop your child’s identity and the ability to become an engaged learner.
WHAT WE DO…….
We offer an amazing safe and secure outside play area with impact absorbing safety surfacing. We replicate our indoor classroom learning outdoors by ensuring we take full advantage of our beautiful rural setting to explore EYFS standards such as ‘Understanding the World’ where children can be imaginative in the mud kitchen, and have the opportunity to learn about the planet by engaging with a sand and water area. Regardless of the weather conditions our children are encouraged to spend time outdoors, being active, expressive and always promoting ‘Physical Development’.
ACHIEVING EYFS STANDARDS
We follow overarching principles of EYFS as we believe every child is an individual who has the potential to be resilient, confident, capable and self-assured through his and her’s learning experience. At Monkey Puzzle Lower Broadheath we place great emphasis on learning through play, by providing the resources and activities to encourage children to be creative and imaginative. The Key Worker supports the child by carefully planning adult led and child initiated activities. Thereby forming a positive relationship with the child to encourage independence and strength.

We are highly committed to working in partnership with parents and carers to allow Key Workers to plan effectively for a child’s learning. Regular meetings will be arranged amongst Key Workers and parents to discuss their child’s learning and developmental journey.
Parents will receive daily feedback about their child’s day and a day-by-day journal for their baby. Monthly newsletters are sent out and posted on the website to keep parents up to date of events taking place at the nursery and will provide all the necessary advice and information.
